Escape

“Yet there are moments when the walls of the mind grow thin; when nothing is unabsorbed, and I could fancy that we might blow so vast a bubble that the sun might set and rise in it and we might take the blue of midday and the black of midnight and be cast off and escape from here and now.”
Virginia Woolf, The Waves

Where would you escape to, if you could?

Cool pics. I want to go to all these places.

Salzburg is unseemingly beautiful in the winter. In the summer too.

Can I just blanket say “Europe”? I want to escape to Europe. Most countries/provinces will do.

Agreed. But there are so many pockets that I’m desperate to go to more than others that I think I’d have to start ranking places. But no matter what, I’d have to spend years over there just to visit *most* of the places I want to.

      Le sigh.

A dentist once asked me to talk about my “happy place” and then go there as she worked on my teeth.

Knowing that most people probably describe Bermuda, I told her about White Sands, NM, at sunset and later, under a full moon. Every time I visited her afterward, she always brought up White Sands.

(And I felt intense pain from my jaw?)

I need to travel to some tropical places to give you even more diversity ;)

    • Melissa says:

Ha! I know you already do have more diverse photographs of places than what I selected here…but yes, please! Travel everywhere so I can continue to live vicariously through you.
