It Will Always Be Too Late

I came across this adaptation of Camus’ The Fall earlier today. The more I watch it, the more I appreciate it. You’re gonna lose some content from muting, drawing, and casting a monologue into motion, of course, and the leaf metaphor is a little obvious, but it’s kinda cool, and having recently reread it, pretty on-point.

This rendition of _The Fall_ is elegant and lovely. You have inspired me to want to read Camus’ book, which Wikipedia makes sound very interesting!

Haha – nice. It’s actually a pretty quick read. Camus’ prose is always great at reminding his readers that they are intelligent without boring them to death. Plus, it’s rather hilarious – something the video didn’t capture (though I’m glad it didn’t).

  3. Had no idea this exists. The novel is one of my desert-island books, so I had to watch it. It’s nice but maybe too nice. The judge-penitent would be difficult in animation–it’s a little overstated via the judge and court milieux–but overall this is certainly a brave attempt. I have a bit of animus toward animation, so please do not understand me too quickly.
