Very cool! I love seeing things like this. I remember going to the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin when I lived there and finding Steinbeck’s notebook where he hand wrote most of East of Eden. He started the manuscript by writing letters to his sons, which I thought was an interesting way to get momentum for a story. (On a side note, this museum also has one of the original Gutenberg Bibles.) Steinbeck’s notes and Obama’s edits are great for writers to see because we rarely get to witness other writers in the process of writing. These are important artifacts.
